St Joseph's is open for worship with the permission of the Bishop of Malaga who delegates the supervision both of the facilities and the worship celebrated within to the Parish Priest of Nuestra Senora del Rosario.
Throughout our existence St Joseph's has made donations to the parish and more recently has been active in fundraising for 'Caritas' a charity which cares for the homeless and the hungry in the Malaga Diocese. A special collection is held every first friday for caritas.
Whilst St Joseph's provides a Mass in the English language each day in Fuengirola in accordance with the statutes of the Catholic Association of St Joseph the Worker. it cannot and does not provide for Bapitisms Weddings or Funerals.
Santa Iglesia Cathedral Basilica De La Encarnation - Cathederal of Malaga.
Malaga Cathedral a beautiful and impressive building is a Renaissance Church located within the limits defined by a now missing portion of the medieval Moorish walls. It was constructed between 1528 and 1782. The south tower remains unfinished. The unfinished state has led to the Cathederal being called 'La Manquita'.
The current Bishop of Malaga is Bishop Jesus Esteban Catala Ibanez. Bishop Jesus was appointed on the 10th October 2008 and installed on the 13 December of that year. He was originally ordained a priest on 3rd July 1976 and was appointed Auxiliary Bishop of Valencia on 25th March 1996. He served as Titular Bishop of Urusi and Bishop of Alcala de Henares before his appointment as Bishop of Malaga.
