St. Joseph's Support Group
Since the formation of the Group a number of successful events have been held.
3 Coffee mornings
A visit to the Theatre
A seminar with a Funeral Director.
The most recent coffee morning was held in the Living Waters Hall (formerly the Ark). It was by far the biggest and most successful and whilst there was a little confusion at first it was agreed by all that future events of this nature should be held there.
The organiser of the social side is Jean Fenton who would welcome suggestions as to future activity.
Some future ideas include a 'fish and chip lunch' and a quiz.
The Support Group was formed in 2017 to help members of the Community who may find themselves in a state of shock and grief when faced with the death of a loved one here in Spain and find themselves at a loss over what to do.
The support group will offer immediate help in the provision of a vetted Funeral Director, Priest and help arrange all arrangements to comply with the wishes of the family.
We trust that this support will never be required but have found from experience that it is a tremendous help to members of the community both visiting or resident.
The setting up of the Support Group was also seen as an opportunity to develop a community sense of friendship and bringing people together. Initially 'coffee and chat' mornings were introduced although a suitable venue was not available.
